What is accessibility and why does it matter?

To be accessible Tameside and Glossop Care together understand the website must be as easy to use and understand for as many visitors as possible. We are committed to maintaining and improving the accessibility of our site.

Wouldn't it be great if you could look at your GP online records online? Well you can!


What records can I view online?

GP online service is just like online banking you can look at your GP records on a computer, a tablet or a smartphone, using a website or an app.

You can choose to:

  • Book and cancel appointments with your doctor or nurse, when it suits you. Your surgery will choose which appointments can be booked online
  • Order repeat prescriptions. You may be able to save money and time as you don’t need to make a special trip to your surgery to order repeat prescriptions.
  • Look at part of your GP records online. You can look at your records whenever you want, even from the comfort of your home, and find answers to questions you have without ringing your doctor

I’m not good with the internet – where can I get help?

There are a number of different services for people who need internet training such as UK online centres

Others are provided by local authorities, colleges and charities. The best place to start would be your local library

How do I sign up to GP online services?

Tell your GP practice you want to start using online services.

Your surgery will give you a short form to fill in and sign to make sure you agree.

Your surgery will want to protect your records from people who are not allowed to see them so some identification will be required to check who you are.

Your surgery will check your photo ID and proof of address, for example, a passport or driving licence and a bank statement or council tax statement. If you do not have any ID and are well known to your surgery, a member of staff may be able to say who you are.

How do I login to GP online services?

Your surgery will give you a letter with your special username and password.

Your surgery will tell you about the website where you can log in and start using online services.

Is there a cost?

No. On line services are free to use and are just another way of contacting your surgery

Online services are free to use and are just another way of getting in touch with your surgery. You can still ring them or go to your surgery in person like you do now. Anyone can bene t from using online services A lot of people can bene t from using online services.
